Litta Trap Program
In May 2024, a total of 32 LittaTrap™ units were installed in catch basins on the east end of Town as part of a pilot project.
These units are filters designed to capture garbage, pollutants, and debris larger than 5 mm. This prevents them from entering the stormwater system and protects the downstream environment.
The first waste audit was completed in September 2024, five (5) months after unit installation, and resulted in a total of 263.47 kg (580.85 lbs.) of waste capture. A second waste audit was conducted in April 2025 to compare seasonal variations, and a total of 511.87 kgs (1,128.48 lbs.) was captured!
