    New Youth Recreation Centre Officially Opens in BWG
    On Wednesday, May 1, the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury (BWG) officially opened its doors to the New Youth Recreation Centre at 226 Colborne Street. The event marked a significant milestone for BWG’s youth programming with the new Centre offering a safe space for young people of the community to gather while accessing a variety of resources.

    Four Automated Speed Enforcement Locations Officially Activated in BWG

    After completing the mandatory 90-day notification period, “In Use” signs and Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) cameras have been installed at four Community Safety Zones in BWG and are activated effective immediately.

     The ASE pilot project was endorsed by Council in October 2023 and includes a total of three rotations, with each rotation including four new ASE locations at Community Safety Zones throughout BWG.

    Service Line Warranties of Canada to Offering Local Homeowners Water and Sewer Service Plans

    Local homeowners now have access to optional service plans to assist with the cost and management of common plumbing repairs thanks to a new, voluntary program for residents through Service Line Warranties of Canada (SLWC).

    Repairs to or replacement of the water and sewer lines on a resident’s property are not typically covered under standard homeowner’s insurance or by the Town of BWG.

    Inflow and Infiltration Study Fog Testing Sanitary Sewer Works Notice

    The Town of Bradford has retained GM BluePlan Engineering and AMG Environmental to complete fog testing on the sanitary sewers servicing your area. The fog testing works began on May 13 and is scheduled for completion by end of June 2024 (weather dependent).

    Bradford West Gwillimbury Receives Generous Donation for New Youth Recreation Centre

    Slated for its official opening next month, the Town’s New Youth Recreation Centre is thrilled to receive a significant donation of $100,000 from local developer, Ayaz Ahmed, to support accessibility upgrades and furnishings for the Centre.

    Ayaz Ahmed is the owner of the future “Bradford Greens” development at 281 Barrie Street.

  • BWG to Recognize Local Volunteers During National Volunteer Week

    In celebration of National Volunteer Week (April 21 to 27), the Town of BWG is hosting its third annual Volunteer Appreciation Event to recognize local volunteers who have played a vital role in supporting our community events and leisure programs over the year.

    On April 17, volunteers with the Event Volunteer Program and BWG Leisure Centre will gather at the BWG Leisure Centre for the “BWG APPreciates you” themed recognition event.

    Seasonal Load Restrictions are lifting early this year!

    Seasonal load restrictions are in effect annually, between March 1 and April 30, to reduce damage to our road network during the spring thaw. Effective April 17, load restrictions on all Town and County roads will be removed.

    Thursday, April 11 marked a significant milestone in addressing the pressing needs of our aging population as LOFT Community Services celebrated the commencement of the redevelopment of Bradford House.
