    Every Spring and Fall, the Town’s Water Division completes watermain flushing, which consists of running water at every hydrant to ensure a clean and fresh water supply for our municipal water customers.

    The work started during the week of September 15, and will continue through the end of October.

    Holland River Bridge Rehabilitation Project

    Update on York Region’s Holland River Bridge Rehabilitation Project

    We understand that many of our residents are feeling frustrated by the traffic delays caused by the ongoing Holland River Bridge rehabilitation project. We know the impact on your daily commute is real, especially during the morning and afternoon rush hours, but this work is necessary to ensure the long-term safety and functionality of the bridge.
  • BWG Fall Tree & Sidewalk Pruning

    Municipal Tree & Sidewalk Pruning

    The Town’s contractor will be completing tree and sidewalk pruning over the coming weeks. This routine maintenance is important to:

    • Ensure safe passage along sidewalks and roadways

    • Improve visibility for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians

    • Support the long-term health of our urban trees

    Pruning work will take place on the following streets:

    • Britannia Ave

    • Bingham Street

    • Edward Street

    • Back Street

    • William Street

    • Centre Street

    • Townsend Ave

    • Buce Ave

    • Simcoe Road

    • Gordon Crt

    • Evans Ave

    Notice of Hydrant Flushing: Fall 2025

    Every Spring and Fall, the Town’s Water Division completes water main flushing, which consists of running water at every hydrant to ensure a clean and fresh water supply for our municipal water customers.

    Starting the week of September 15 and through the end of October, water will be run at every hydrant in BWG.

    Notice of Road Closure: Walker Avenue

    What:

    The Town's Wastewater department will be conducting a sanitary lateral repair along Walker Avenue and will require a full closure to all through traffic.

    When:

    The work will be completed from September 8 (7am to 6pm) to September 9 (7am to 2pm).

  • Town Lifts Level Two Water Restrictions
    We’re pleased to share that maintenance on the Town’s production well has been successfully completed, and with improved weather conditions, the Level 2 water restrictions have now been lifted. Residents can resume normal water usage.
  • Temporary Level 2 Water Restrictions in Effect

    BWG Implements Temporary Level 2 Water Restrictions Amid Heat Wave and Well Maintenance

    In response to extreme heat and the temporary shutdown of one of the town’s wells for maintenance, the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury has enacted Level 2 Outdoor Water Restrictions under its Lawn Watering By-Law, effective immediately.

    The heightened restrictions are aimed at conserving the town’s municipal water supply during this unusually hot and dry period.

    2025 Property Tax Bills Sent Early Due to Possible Mail Disruption

    Due to the possibility of a Canada Post service disruption in May 2025, the Town of BWG has made the decision to issue the 2025 Final Property Tax bills earlier than normal, however the due dates are unchanged. This year your Final Property Tax bills will be issued in early May, providing you with even more time to arrange for your payments on or before Thursday, June 26 and Friday, September 26, 2025.

  • Notice:2024 Urban Roads Rehabilitation
    WHEN: Friday, September 27th, 2024, starting at 7:00am. The work is weather dependent and may require the work to be performed on an alternate day.

    Starting March 11 for BWG South

    Every Spring and Fall, the Town’s Water Division completes watermain flushing, which consists of running water at every hydrant to ensure a clean and fresh water supply for our municipal water customers.

    Starting Monday, March 11, and over the following several weeks, water will be run at every hydrant in BWG.
