BWG Proclaims Indian Independence Day 2025Indian Independence Day

WHEREAS: Indian Independence Day is celebrated annually on August 15 commemorating the nation's independence from the United Kingdom on August 15, 1947; and
WHEREAS: Independence Day is marked throughout India with flag-raising ceremonies, with the main event taking place at the Red Fort in New Delhi. It begins with the hoisting of the flag by the prime minister, followed by the singing of the Indian national anthem, a parade, kite flying, and a televised.
