Open Air Fire and Fireworks Ban in Effect for BWG
As of July 30, 2025, the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury (BWG) has implemented a complete ban on open air burning and the use of fireworks due to elevated fire risk conditions.
This ban applies even if you currently hold a burn permit and includes the following restrictions:
- No open-air burning
- No use of fireworks
- No cooking fires
- No use of coal, charcoal, wood, or woodchip-fueled barbecue devices

Temporary Level 2 Water Restrictions in EffectBWG Implements Temporary Level 2 Water Restrictions Amid Heat Wave and Well Maintenance
In response to extreme heat and the temporary shutdown of one of the town’s wells for maintenance, the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury has enacted Level 2 Outdoor Water Restrictions under its Lawn Watering By-Law, effective immediately.
