    BWG Celebrates the Official Grand Opening of 177 Church Street

    After two years of construction, the Town of BWG officially opened its doors at its 177 Church Street building during a grand opening ceremony on June 27.

    Together with Tony Van Bynen, Member of Parliament for Newmarket—Aurora, the project team, town staff, tenants, and community members, the Town of BWG proudly celebrated the transformation of the former Bradford Public School.

    Notice of Application of Larvicide for Mosquito Control in BWG
    From June 17 to October 31, 2024, the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury, under the authority of the Simcoe Muskoka Medical Officer of Health, will conduct a program to control mosquito larvae (immature mosquitoes) in standing water to prevent their development into potential carriers of West Nile virus.

    The larvicide (Altosid Pellets PCP#21809, pellet formulation) and (Altosid Granules PCP# 22676,) will be applied by direct hand application to catch basins of storm drains in the following.

    Notice of EOI for Accessible Taxi Cab Grant/Marketing Agreements
    The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury Council has approved a one-time grant for taxicab companies licensed in Bradford West Gwillimbury to off-set the initial cost of purchasing or retrofitting an on-demand wheelchair accessible taxicab, as well as online advertising.

    In addition to the monetary grant, Council also approved a stand-alone Accessible Taxicab Marketing Agreement.

    WHEREAS: The Portuguese Cultural Centre of Bradford was established in 1983 in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury as a gathering place for the Portuguese community; and

    WHEREAS: The mission statement of the Centre is to promote the Portuguese culture through religious festivals, educational seminars, and various community events; and

    Town of BWG Launches Private Tree Protection Survey to Shape Future Policies
    In a dedicated effort to foster environmental sustainability, the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury is launching a comprehensive survey inviting residents to contribute their perspectives on a Draft Private Tree Protection By-law.

    The survey was approved by the Green Initiatives Committee at the October 2023 meeting.

    Building Division Extended Hours are Back for the Summer

    The Building Division is happy to announce the return of their Extended Hours Program to help homeowners apply for permits for decks, pools and hot tubs, sheds, finished basements, porches, and gazebos.

    The Building Division Extended Hours Program is by appointment only and will run every Wednesday until 7:00 pm, from June 5-August 28.
