New Youth Recreation Centre Officially Opens in BWGOn Wednesday, May 1, the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury (BWG) officially opened its doors to the New Youth Recreation Centre at 226 Colborne Street. The event marked a significant milestone for BWG’s youth programming with the new Centre offering a safe space for young people of the community to gather while accessing a variety of resources.
Four Automated Speed Enforcement Locations Officially Activated in BWGAfter completing the mandatory 90-day notification period, “In Use” signs and Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) cameras have been installed at four Community Safety Zones in BWG and are activated effective immediately.
The ASE pilot project was endorsed by Council in October 2023 and includes a total of three rotations, with each rotation including four new ASE locations at Community Safety Zones throughout BWG.
Service Line Warranties of Canada to Offering Local Homeowners Water and Sewer Service PlansLocal homeowners now have access to optional service plans to assist with the cost and management of common plumbing repairs thanks to a new, voluntary program for residents through Service Line Warranties of Canada (SLWC).
Repairs to or replacement of the water and sewer lines on a resident’s property are not typically covered under standard homeowner’s insurance or by the Town of BWG.
2031 Transit Plan Public MeetingIn partnership with transit consultant, Left Turn Right Turn, the Town of BWG’s Transportation Division are developing a 2031 Transit Plan that will pave the way for the future of BWG Transit.
Spring 2024 Hydrant FlushingStarting March 11 for BWG South
Every Spring and Fall, the Town’s Water Division completes watermain flushing, which consists of running water at every hydrant to ensure a clean and fresh water supply for our municipal water customers.
Starting Monday, March 11, and over the following several weeks, water will be run at every hydrant in BWG.
Town of BWG 2023 Annual Water Quality ReportThe Town of BWG is pleased to announce that in accordance with Section 11 of Ontario Drinking Water Systems Regulation 170/03, the 2023 annual report for water quality is now available for review. The Annual Report covers the period of January 1 to December 31.
Bradford West Gwillimbury Making Significant Investments to Protect the Holland RiverThe Town of BWG is making two significant investments through the 2024 Budget towards local environmental sustainability. Two innovative infrastructure projects are slated for this year to help protect the Holland River.
