Town of BWG Traffic Mitigation Strategy – Notice of Study CommencementThe Town of BWG is developing a Traffic Mitigation Strategy to help address existing traffic concerns in BWG and support safer and more livable streets for all users.
The Strategy will include:- Background and Best Practice Review: Summary of existing traffic conditions in BWG and opportunities to implement traffic calming measures to address traffic concerns; and
- Traffic Calming Design Guide: Development of a guide to help the Town evaluate and address traffic calming requests, a toolbox of.

BWG Renames Park In Honour of South Simcoe Police Constable Devon NorthrupOn Monday, September 18, the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury dedicated a local park in honour of Constable Devon Northrup, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty on October 11, 2022.
Hundreds of people gathered at Constable Devon Northrup Memorial Park, located at 140 Langford Boulevard.

The leaves are falling, the air is getting cooler and Pumpkin Fest will ‘leaf’ you loving Fall even more!Pumpkin Fest is a free family-friendly event featuring live music, busker performances, wagon rides, pumpkin carving (one per child, while supplies last), the Bradford Farmers’ Market, an inflatable corn maze, mini-golf, face painting, and more! We are also pleased to welcome BWG.

BWG to Honour Cst. Devon Northrup with Renaming of Local ParkIn partnership with the South Simcoe Police Service (SSPS) and with the support of the Northrup family, the Town of BWG is dedicating a local park in honour of Constable Devon Northrup, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty on October 11, 2022.
We invite the community to join us for the official park renaming and dedication ceremony for Constable Devon Northrup on Monday, September 18 at 5:00 pm.

BWG Animal Services Partners with Alliston District Humane Society
BWG Animal Services is now partnering with the Alliston District Humane Society to provide Municipal Shelter Services for the Town.ADHS is volunteer based, with 2 veterinary technicians on site, ample staff to look after the animals, and a beautiful property with 49 acres of walking trails.

Statement From BWG Council Regarding Library StrikeIn a community update recently published by our Library CEO, the Bradford West Gwillimbury Public Library (BWGPL) Board shared that they have applied to the Ontario Labour Relations Board (OLRB) to request first collective agreement arbitration.
Although we didn’t expect to see things reach this point, Council supports the Board’s decision to apply for arbitration.

BWG’s Accessibility Advisory Committee Publishes Accessible Taxicab SurveyThe Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA), requires that municipalities consult with the public regarding the need for accessible taxicabs and transportation in the community. The Town of BWG’s Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) is looking at options to increase inclusive transportation for all residents.
