BWG’s Annual Community Clean-up Week Returns!

Help tackle waste to maintain a clean and healthy community.

In celebration of Earth Day, the Town of BWG is happy to announce the return of Community Clean-up Week. Join Council, staff, and fellow community members in tackling waste and supporting a clean and healthy BWG.

From Monday, April 22, to Sunday, April 28, residents are encouraged to participate in the week-long campaign by collecting waste in areas across their neighbourhood, like trails, parks, and other greenspaces.

“Community Clean-up Week has quickly become a popular community tradition in BWG. Keeping our community healthy and litter-free is everyone’s responsibility and this event is an opportunity for all residents to show their pride in where they live, work, and play. I welcome everyone to roll up their sleeves and join Council, staff, and fellow neighbours in this year’s Community Clean-up Week, and play a role in ensuring a healthy and thriving BWG for all!” – Mayor James Leduc

Starting Wednesday, April 17, and while supplies last, residents are welcome to pick up a clean-up kit which will include garbage bags, gloves, hand sanitizer, instructions, and safety tips. Kits are available on a first-come-first-served basis, and registration is not required. Participants can collect their kits at the BWG Leisure Centre (471 West Park Avenue) during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 6:00 am 10:00 pm; and Saturday-Sunday, 7:30 am-4:00 pm).

Residents can participate in Community Clean-up Week anytime between Monday, April 22, and Sunday, April 28. Select a time that is most convenient to you and your family. Please keep safety top of mind when selecting a day, time, and location, and as you collect waste.

Place all waste in the coloured garbage bags provided. Once finished, place the garbage bag next to any Town-branded garbage bin across Town. Further drop off instructions can be found in each clean-up kit.

Share your before and after photos and/or videos with the Town. Show your support and participation by tagging @townofBWG on Facebook, Instagram, and X, using the hashtag #BWGCommunityCleanUp.

Thank you to Sweet B’s Bakery, Firehouse Subs, and Perfect SZN Bradford, who have graciously donated coupons for the kits.
