WHEREAS: The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury recognizes the vibrant cultural legacy of the Tamil community; and

WHEREAS: January holds a special significance as it marks the start of Tamil Heritage Month, celebrating the remarkable contributions of Canada’s Tamil community to our social, political, cultural, and economic strength; and

WHEREAS: This dedicated month provides a unique opportunity for residents to engage in learning and celebrating the unique traditions, customs, and history of the Tamil people; and

WHEREAS: Through cultural exchanges, educational initiatives, and community events, we aim to foster a deeper understanding and respect for the Tamil Heritage; and

WHEREAS: May this month be a time of reflection, appreciation, and celebration, as we come together to honour the achievements and contributions of the Tamil community.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That His Worship Mayor James Leduc and Members of Council proclaim January 2026, as TAMIL HERITAGE MONTH in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.
