BWG Proclaims Seniors Month 2025

June, 2025

WHEREAS: Seniors Month is an annual province-wide celebration of the vital contribution of older adults in our community; and

WHEREAS: Seniors Month encourages Ontarians to celebrate the importance of the health and well-being of seniors, keeping them socially connected and engaged in the community through inclusion and belonging; and

WHEREAS: Seniors have contributed and continue to contribute immensely to the life and vibrancy of the Town of BWG; and

WHEREAS: Their contributions past and present warrant appreciation and recognition and their stories deserve to be told; and

WHEREAS: The Town of BWG is proud to support the local Danube Seniors Leisure Centre, also known as the BWG Seniors Association, which offers programs and activities that enhance the lives of local older adults; and

WHEREAS: Through the dedication and commitment of local groups and organizations, like the Danube Seniors Centre; CHATS; Holland Gardens; The Elden; and others, and in partnership with the Town of BWG, our community is proud to offer an array of services, programming, and support for local older adults – providing them a community and network where they can continue to learn new skills and be socially connected.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That His Worship Mayor James Leduc and Members of Council proclaim June 2025 as Seniors Month in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury and encourage all citizens to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of our seniors.
