Portuguese Heritage Month and Portugal Day

WHEREAS: Portugal Day is celebrated around the world every year on June 10; and

WHEREAS: The Portuguese Cultural Centre of Bradford was established in 1983 in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury as a gathering place for the Portuguese community; and

WHEREAS: The mission statement of the Centre is to promote the Portuguese culture through religious festivals, educational seminars, and various community events; and

WHEREAS: Bradford West Gwillimbury, as a future for their families and their children.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That His Worship Mayor James Leduc and Members of Council proclaim June 2025 as Portuguese Heritage Month and June 10, 2025, as Portugal Day in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.
