Long COVID Awareness Day 2026

WHEREAS: Long COVID is a condition that can affect individuals of all ages following a COVID-19 infection, with symptoms that may persist for weeks, months, or longer; and

WHEREAS: people living with Long COVID may experience a wide range of ongoing physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges that can significantly impact daily life, work, school, and overall well-being; and

WHEREAS: increasing public awareness and understanding of Long COVID is essential to supporting those affected, advancing research, improving access to care, and reducing stigma; and

WHEREAS: International Long COVID Awareness Day, observed annually on March 15, provides an opportunity to recognize the resilience of individuals living with Long COVID and to show support for them, their families, caregivers, and healthcare providers; and

WHEREAS: the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury is committed to fostering a compassionate, informed, and inclusive community that supports the health and well-being of all residents;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That His Worship Mayor James Leduc and Members of Council proclaim March 15, 2026, as International Long COVID Awareness Day in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury
