International Women's Day

WHEREAS: International Women’s Day is recognized and celebrated annually around the world on March 8; and

WHEREAS: The International Women's Day 2025 campaign theme is #AccelerateAction, highlighting the urgent need to speed up efforts to break down the systemic barriers and biases that continue to hold back women's equality. It's an opportunity to accelerate progress and remove the obstacles that limit women from reaching their full potential and;

WHEREAS: The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury recognizes the invaluable contributions of women to our community, workplaces, families, and society at large, and acknowledges the need for continued efforts to break down barriers and promote inclusivity; and

WHEREAS: The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury is committed to promoting gender equality and empowering women and girls in all facets of society; and

WHEREAS: The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury recognizes that through equity we can achieve equality and that people's needs aren't always the same and we often need different things to succeed.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That His Worship Mayor James Leduc and Members of Council proclaim March 8, 2025, as International Women's Day in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.
