BWG Proclaims International Day of Older Persons 2024

International Day of Older Persons: October 1, 2024

WHEREAS: The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury recognizes International Day of Older Persons as designated by the United Nations General Assembly; and

WHEREAS: Promotes the visibility of older persons as participating members of society committed to improving the enjoyment of human rights in many areas of life and not just those affected immediately; and

WHEREAS: Reflects on progress and challenges in ensuring full and equal enjoyment of human rights and fundamental freedoms by older persons within the Town of BWG; and

WHEREAS: The knowledge and experience older persons pass on to us continues to benefit all; and

WHEREAS: The Town of BWG raises awareness on the importance of the contribution and involvement of older persons in the community.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That His Worship Mayor James Leduc and Members of Council proclaim October 1, 2024, as INTERNATIONAL DAY OF OLDER PERSONS in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.
