BWG Proclaims Coldest Night of the Year Week 2026

WHEREAS: The challenges faced by our vulnerable neighbors are significant, with the rising cost of living, mental health challenges, and a lack of resources and support, negatively impacting many in our community; and

WHEREAS: United Way Simcoe Muskoka is committed to driving long-term change by reducing poverty and addressing social isolation through vital programs such as Groundwork in BWG; and

WHEREAS: Groundwork, led by Wow Living, is a wrap-around program that provides life-stabilizing support for individuals living in poverty, offering mental health support, mentorship, employment training, and employment opportunities; and

WHEREAS:​ Coldest Night of the Year on February 28th is a community event dedicated to raising funds for this crucial initiative, helping those in need in our community; and

WHEREAS:​ This event offers an opportunity for the Town of BWG to come together in solidarity to support our neighbors and make a positive impact on the lives of those who need it most.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That His Worship Mayor James Leduc and Members of Council proclaim February 23 – 28, 2026 as COLDEST NIGHT OF THE YEAR WEEK in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.

Join us for a flag raising on Monday, February 23, at 11:00 am outside of the Court House Courtyard
located at 57 Holland St. E
